A human rights poster for schools and workplaces
A human rights poster is a clear, positive reminder that everyone has the same basic rights and freedoms, whoever they are and wherever they live. In schools, human rights posters support citizenship, PSHE and history lessons and help pupils understand fairness and responsibility. In workplaces and public buildings, they show a commitment to dignity and respect for everyone.
These four designs suit every age and setting, from a friendly children’s rights poster for primary classrooms to bold, modern designs for secondary schools, colleges and offices. Each one is printed in the UK on thick 260gsm paper.
Four human rights poster designs
Choose a design from the Design menu above and the main image switches to show it.
Design 1 – “Human Rights Are For Everyone”
A ring of colourful people holding hands around a glowing globe, with the line everyone, everywhere, every day. A striking choice for halls, corridors and receptions.
Design 2 – “Every Child Has Rights”
Four bright boxes showing rights children can understand: to be safe, to learn, to play and to be heard. Made for EYFS and primary classrooms.
Design 3 – “Freedom, Equality, Dignity, Respect”
Four powerful words in bold colours with the line the rights we all share. Ideal for secondary schools, colleges, libraries and offices.
Design 4 – “Human Rights Day, 10 December”
A dove with an olive branch above open hands, with the call to stand up for someone’s rights today. Perfect for Human Rights Day displays and assemblies.

Why human rights posters matter
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted on 10 December 1948, and in the UK many of those rights are protected by the Human Rights Act 1998. Children also have their own rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Posters turn these big ideas into simple messages that pupils and staff can see and talk about every day.
How to use human rights posters
In primary schools, use Design 2 to create a class charter, asking pupils which rights matter most to them and how they can respect other people’s rights. In secondary schools, Designs 1 and 3 can introduce citizenship and history topics, from democracy to equality laws. Mark Human Rights Day each December with Design 4 and an assembly or display.
Combine this range with our anti-racism poster, diversity poster and Black History Month poster for a complete equality and citizenship display. To explain equality law, add our equality poster.
